A distinctive perspective

Marcos Molina's journey through the art world has spanned 2 decades, along the way exploring various styles and techniques in oil painting, and in so doing developing a unique style that he likes to think of as vivid realism, where light and colour come to life more vibrantly to create lasting images in our eyes.

From meticulous panel preparation to using the finest oils and brushes, Marcos Molina's painting process demonstrates attention to detail at every step. Layer by layer, distant and soft backgrounds slowly give way to more imposing features, inviting the viewer to join the scene.

Every Marcos Molina original art piece is a creative journey of many hours that offers you collection-quality authentic artwork from the Canadian Rockies .

Artist Path

Marcos Molina's works have sold privately to collectors and art enthusiasts for over 15 years. He has presented and sold works in Australia, New Zealand, the US and Canada throughout that time. He initially got gallery representation at the Queenstown Gallery of Fine Art in New Zealand in 2004 and more recently with The Gallery at the Springs in Banff, Alberta.

His artistic education saw him recently learn classic painting techniques from Canadian Landscape Painter Roger D. Arndt, further enhancing Marcos's technique. Originally self taught - after a childhood spent filling books with sketches and drawings - Marcos Molina then continued his artistic education with his degree and work in animation, before rounding out his design skills with a career in digital media.

Mountain Life

Every day living in Banff is an opportunity to capture something special, with more magical places in Banff National Park and surrounding mountains a short distance away. Marcos Molina's outings into nature take him to iconic spots throughout the seasons, whether that's skiing to remote huts with the kids in the cold of winter, paddling on the Bow River on a hot summer day or just biking the trails and roads around Banff on a lunch break.

"It is hard to truly capture how spectacular being in the mountains and nature is, but sometimes you get lucky and manage to bring back to the studio a glimpse of that "spectacular". Then starts the journey with paint and brushes, where along the way I am constantly taken back to those special places."
