Marcos Molina - Banff Fine Artist

Art Education

Marcos Molina holds a Bachelor of Animation from Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, training in traditional hand-drawn animation, life drawing, film composition, and digital painting - techniques and skills that still influence his vibrant and detailed oil paintings.

Marcos showed promising drawing skills from a young age. At 17 he started painting with oils. This initial painting period was self-taught, and in 2004, while on an extended trip to New Zealand, he secured his first gallery representation, at the Queenstown Gallery of Fine Art.

After working in Montreal’s animation industry for several years, Marcos realized his strongest calling as an artist lied in traditional oil painting, at which point he dedicated his focus to Canadian mountain paintings. More recently he has expanded his subjects of interest to the rainforests, coastlines, and mountains of the Canadian West Coast.

Marcos Molina is proudly represented by Mountain Galleries in Banff, Jasper, and Whistler and is an Active Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA).
